New England at Its Best

This is what our front yard looks like in July:

And, it's pretty good. But it is also hot, and humid, and for a transplanted Canadian like me (admittedly, I was transplanted a long time ago, but still!), I prefer the front yard when it looks like this:

As is does right now. Here are some more pics of the boys out in the snow:

They are having so much fun, and they don't even know yet about the marshmallows waiting to go into their hot chocolate when they get back inside.

Isn't it lovely?? Only downside? We here in the mountains of western NC have no CLUE how to navigate icy roads - - especially icy curvy roads (which is basically the only kind we have). So our town has had like over 300 accidents in the last three days. Hazardous...but so much dang fun!!!

Great pics! I see a snow fort in the makings? How very cool. You are such a good mommy marshmallows waiting in the cocoa. Save me a cup!:P

Jena - Even with shoveling and the enhanced 'worry' feature that comes with adulthood, I still LOVE the snow just like I did as a kid :-)

Topsy - This sounds unusual for you guys, I am picturing your whole town sliding around on the snow and ice! Be safe :-)

Rana - your cocoa is waiting!

Cheers guys -
K

Looks like lots of fun! We're getting our share of snow here, too.

The July picture looks lovely, too!

Love you winter shots! We get a NY white Christmas this year thanks to the chilling temperatures!

Merry Christmas!

Peace and Laughter,

Now that is what I call winter! I am so jealous. We have to drive to Tahoe for snow (except for that freak dusting we had this year). Happy New Year!

Sparklee - I know, I shouldn't dis July. It is great, but I'll always love snow more ;-)

Cristina - No wonder you are all inside, knitting and drawing and stuff! Actually, I love that about winter too, we get to stay in and be snuggly by the fire.

Susan - Happy New Year to you as well, I hope more freak snow comes your way :-)
