I'm so excited, because this holiday season is the first I've ever known how to knit. We always celebrate Hannukah around Thanksgiving because that's when hubby's family gets together. So, while I've been making these babies for the last month, only now can I share them online.
Here's the purse I made for my Mom-in-law:
That bead, used to weigh the flap down and keep the purse closed, is one of those that you feel you can gaze at for hours, like a crystal ball. Soooo pretty....
And, I made felted bowls for my sister-in-law:
Look - they even nest one in the other!
Friends tell me that they'd use these bowls to put pine cones in as a centerpiece, or to put towels and toiletries in at the bathroom sink. For some reason, I can see them on the dining table with a bunch of clementines in them. Which is good because to me, because clementines always smell deliciously of December.
Hope your Thanksgiving is wonderful, just what you feel it should be; I will be found on Turkey Day thanking my lucky stars for this life, and everyone in it.

Beautiful gifts! They're sure to love them.
Happy Thanksgiving to you too! The bowls and purse are beautiful! I have to show my daughter.
Peace and Laughter!

Those are fabulous!! Did you find the patterns online or in books? I'm (trying) to knit everybody hats for Christmas, but as I got such a late start, I don't know if I'm going to get them all done.
You are getting GOOD woman!! Kudos to you, and congrats to the recipients of your beautiful handiwork. I'm thinking it might be time for you to create something lovely for us, your faithful readers, soon. ;) Perhaps a knitting giveaway on the Stone Age Techie??!! ;)
you are awesome! I was wondering what knitting adventures you'd have this winter. :) I've dusted off my needles and made a set of felted coasters this week. You are inspiring!
Happy Thanksgiving!!
Lise and Cristina - thanks. They did :-)
Firefly Mom - much to my surprise, I ended up writing my own pattern for a hat, the kind with earflaps, and a pom-pom, because I wanted to make a Jayne Cobb hat. And I did, it is so effing funny! I'll post pics soon.
Good luck with your knitted gifts :-)
Topsy - A knitted giveaway, you say? I will have to think on that, it sounds interesting!
Jena - dear me, I am blushing :-)
You are awesome too!
You are quite brave to be new at knitting and already trying felting! They look AWESOME! I may have to give it a try. I just FINALLY convinced KM to give knitting a try and now she won't go anywhere without her needles and yarn in tote!
It is such a relaxing and rewarding hobby!
I have a complicated relationship with knitting--very tangled. But I love your felted bowls. Really elegant.
Gorgeous--I'm really impressed!
