Did Someone Say Cookies?

I know, I know... we've barely finished the pumpkin pie, and here I am in the mood for cookies!

I wasn't, until this article that I wrote over at Parents and Kids came out today; as soon as I got to the recipes, my mouth started watering. You can try out my sister-in-law's gingerbread cookies, which are soft and scrumptious, plus you've got your choice of vanilla or chocolate no-chill sugar cookies.

More than anything else, this article has inspired me to start packing up the Halloween decorations - anyone else still have bats hanging from the chandelier? come on, I can't be the only one - and get into the holiday spirit.

Cookies just have a way, don't they?

Great article! I love the 80% rule. We're doing a LOT of baking around here lately but luckily it's pretty healthy stuff and not just cookies. :) I've told Daryl to try your sugar cookies. They sound wonderful.

I think we kinda do the 80/20 without thinking about it now. It helps that my kids like to eat healthy foods. Both cookie recipes sound great. I want to make gingerbread men.

Alicia - thanks. I hope you guys like the cookies!

Rana - I thought of this article today at the playground, when I stuck with an apple instead of going for the delicious pumpkin bread... there is just so much good food around right now, it is hard to make nutritious choices all the time.

We usually roll the gingerbread cookies into balls, so you'll have to report back with your results if you use this recipe to make gingerbread men!

Karen,

Arianna, Luka, and I made and tried your Chocolate substitute sugar cookies recipe, great reward for potty training Luka and a tasty snack.

Good article as well,

Cheers, :-)

Cristina - I hope they turn out okay! If it wasn't so late, I might start the gingerbread ones... but they would all be gone long before Christmas if I did, so probably better not to :-)

Ben - Thanks. I'm glad they worked for you and the kids!
Just thinking of potty training, we got so desperate when Owen turned four and was still struggling, we were bribing him with full-sized donuts!
I wish I'd thought to have some yummy cookies on hand instead :-)

Thanks for visiting guys!
